The ultimate vision for Merrifield is to create a new sustainable 24-hour city for Melbourne.
Setting the benchmark in shaping Melbourne's future, Merrifield will bring everything closer to home and will deliver:
- An employment-led, mixed-use community with in excess of 30,000 jobs across Merrifield and the wider Mickleham North employment precinct.
- The development of up to 15,000 dwellings accommodating up to 30,000 residents across a mix of dwelling types, including higher density living proximate to the proposed Merrifield City Centre.
- The Merrifield City Centre, featuring a high level of homes, jobs and associated community facilities, to be positioned between the adjoining areas of residential and employment focus.
- Improved facilities to assist in delivering closer higher order services to the Hume corridor and regional areas, particularly in the fields of health and education.
- Enhanced regional open space assets that create aspirational recreation facilities for the corridor.
